Panoramic hike in Vals: Gadastatt - Frunt - Zerveila

Recommended by Anina Hutter (cross country skiing & mountain biking)

Distance: about 5,3 km

Duration: about 2 hours 30 minutes

The Vals region is a place of tranquility for Anina Hutter. The hike leads through alpine moorland, past lush mountain meadows and small streams. A special highlight is the view of the Zerveila reservoir from the St. Anna chapel - perfect for a break and a few hiking photos.

Walenpfad from Engelberg Ristis - Brunnihütte - Bannalp

Recommended by Delia Durrer (Alpine skiing)

Distance: approx. 11.3 km

Duration: about 3h 55min

As a ski racer, Delia Durrer loves the mountains - on skis in winter and on foot in summer. A classic among the high altitude trails: The Walenpfad from Engelberg Ristis to Brunnihütte and Bannalp. It offers spectacular views of the Walenstöcke. Lake Härzli is particularly attractive and invites you for a refreshing swim. Delia swears by the Kneipp baths around the lake - a real treat for tired hikers' feet!

For Sixtine Cousin, the hiking paradise is right on her doorstep. The tour to La Berra in Fribourg is her favorite, as she is rewarded with a 360° panorama of the Alps and Lake Gruyère. Perfect for anyone looking for a varied but not too difficult tour.

Round hike from Wasserauen to Seealpsee in Appenzell

Duration: about 2h 25min

As a passionate swimmer, Antonio Djakovic is also drawn to the water in the mountains. The steep but rewarding ascent to the Seealpsee reveals an emerald-green mountain lake surrounded by majestic peaks. Along the way, you can often see cows, marmots and maybe even ibex.

Circular hike from Enggli - from Hochalp Ost to Hochalp

Duration: about 2 hours 45 minutes

For Werner Schlegel, who as a wrestler is used to strength and endurance, a hike can be sporty - but should also be rewarded with a magnificent view. Between the Appenzell Alps, you have a panoramic view of the Alpstein, which invites you to marvel throughout the entire hike from Enggli to Hochalp.
